Dan-kun and Miya-Miya are jogging in P.E. and fooling around (No, not that kind of fooling around) when she notices a welt on his arm inflicted by Toyama. Dan-kun shrugs it off and continues on his way, but Miya-Miya thinks differently as we get the first glimpse of her evil side.

Kojiro-sensei orders the kendo team to come in the next day during lunch for additional practice with Miya being singled out as the member most in need of this training. He then takes the members to the kendo shop to order the equipment they need. The shop owner pressures Kojiro to let him come in once in a while to train the new members. As an aside to Nakata, Kojiro explains that the old man is a seasoned instructor that terrorized the club and its members when he was previously invited. The old man further attempts to persuade Kojiro for an opportunity to “train” his students until Tama interrupts him. He backs off because Tama actually superior to him in kendo (i.e. He’s whipped).

Hope everyone has a good Halloween. When you get older it’s kind of a trivial holiday but it does mean discount candy the day afterwards. Massive sugar rush and cavities, uh-huh.

Here’s my second go at a figure photo shoot. I know the lighting is far from perfect but I’ll get better as time goes along. Sorry in advance for the low resolution shots, because Flickr caps the maximum size for free users. Let’s get down to the nitty gritty. Shuraki is a collaboration between Good Smile Company and Red Entertainment. Mishiro is the first in the series of figure boxsets that include a figure, artbook, and a drama CD.

The following is a basic roundup of the stuff I’ve been watching since the beginning of the year. However, I’m not entirely sure if I’ve included everything - I may have missed some that I thought was yesteryears. But needless to say, there were quite a few pleasant surprises, as well as some let-downs. However, these are the most notable things that came to mind.

I’m not dead. Not yet anyway. I’ve just been binge studying as usual. Once I get done and work on one of my essays a bit more, I’ll get around to blogging Night Wizard episode 4 and Bamboo Blade episode 3.

Mishiro review update: I did take some pictures, but I’m unsatisfied with the amount of noise. I’ll have to hold back on a full review until I get a better camera.

Hope everyone has/had a good weekend. Normal posts will resume Monday.

dragonaut4-1

We start with a flashback to two years ago a day or two after the fateful shuttle crash. A news broadcast relays the incident as we see a younger Professor Kitajima stumble across a dragon in a field. She recognizes it to be Atrum. As she lays her hand on the dragon, it emits a bright light that forces her to avert her eyes. As she turns to look at it again, it is now gone.

dragonaut4-3

Jin awakens on the beach remembering Toa’s farewell from the previous episode. He sees Gio standing on a nearby cliff who soon takes notice of Jin’s presence. Back at the ISDA, the Dragonauts and Communicators minus Liner lament the heartless order of Spirytus’ death with Howling Star taking it the hardest. Liner enters the room and informs the unit that they will resume their search for Jin and Gio. Kazuki continues to mope because Jin stole Gio away from him.

Hit up Nipponsei’s IRC channel for the MP3 distro release. If you don’t mind Megaupload, you can also nab it here. “Megumeru ~Cuckool Mix 2007″ doesn’t sound any different from the movie’s “Megumeru frequency e version”. Regardless of that it’s still a wonderful song and you’d be hard pressed to find a better opening song this season. The other big draw here is the ending, “Dango Daizazoku”. The Dango song actually sounded better in the TV edit, but it’s still just too cute for me to say bad things about it. I don’t have anything to say about the instrumental versions and TV cuts of the OP/ED. The final thing worth noting is “Shoujo no Gensou ZTS Remix” which is just a trance song.

Full track listing

Overall: This is a must have for Key fans and comes highly recommended. 9.5/10

This is yet another filler post to occupy space between fansub releases and the Mishiro review. Guess I’ll relay some daily news or something…

Dedede is the newest challenger announced for a debut in Super Smash Bros Brawl. I wonder if he’ll play like a solo Ice Climber or something. The Kirby series is getting a lot of love this time around.

My Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations preorder is on backorder for some reason. My guess is that they’re withholding the shipments to fill all the plush preorder bonuses.

Watch lolis dance on your XBox 360 - iDOL@STER Expansion pack of sorts. As much as I hate Youtube, here’s a video from the original game. Enjoy.

Clannad’s widescreen version has aired and it looks so much better than this 4:3 crap. Check out the comparison shots over at Random Curiousity. I’ll keep up with the current showings while nabbing the 16:9 subs as they come along.

All of your bases are now in my control. You have no chance of victory.

Genjo did a nice job with the subs - They look pretty nice, especially the OP ones. And the OP is a wonderfully quirky little jazz piece that seems to have its lyrics based around the general theme of the series.

Medium-sized wall of text ahead, nothing that should take long for the average reader.

For all the figure junkies out there, Good Smile Company’s Mishiro Akatsuki arrived at my doorstep on Saturday. Why did I wait until now to post this? Pressing school matter as always. I’ll put my whole review up along with some pictures in a couple of days. It’s an absolutely gorgeous piece. All I can provide you for now are stock photos from the GSC site.

Edit: And the Shuraki website
