I know back when I was an advocate of PAD and helping with A-Kon 2002, there would be a few titles that barely slipped through the socially acceptable standards. Now, it seems more and more prevalent. Things in Japanese culture like gravure picture books have been around for awhile, but it seems that influence is trickling into the anime niche.
