I probably post way too many Key related pictures in my posts. It’ll be my New Year’s Resolution to cut down on all the Air/Kanon/Clannad pictures in the blog. Watch that resolution go out the window a couple weeks into the new year.

Meu Meu, Mista Bawnd, and I wish a Happy New Year to all of you out there. Don’t party so hard that the party van has to pick you up.

I was originally thinking of doing the Dragonaut 13 post, but here we are with yet another filler spot. To make up for this disappointment (mostly in myself), here’s some celebratory fanservice for the second season of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. I sure hope a responsible fansub group will pick it up and maybe even finish the first season.

Guess I’ll talk about some game progress here.

Super Mario Galaxy - Acquired 63 Stars. It’s been wicked fun the whole way through. The only complaint is that it is far too easy.

Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations - Just got to the third case. That second case really seemed to take a long time.

Tsukihime - I’m probably about 3/4 through the Akiha path. After I finish this, I’ll probably go back to get all the CGs I missed. Maybe I’ll try to install Fate/Stay Night or another translated visual novel sometime.

Kirino tries to remember Azuma’s name so the club can promptly recruit her into their ranks. Kojirou continues his drills with Miya to help her improve. Miya catches a glimpse of Reimi and freaks out again. Dan finally asks what is bothering her so Miya shares the story with everyone. Due to a misunderstanding over a guy in junior high in which Reimi confessed to a guy who in turn said that he liked Miya who promptly beat the snot out of him, Reimi has been stalking her ever since.

More than two million Japanese anime fans put in their votes for 2007’s best anime. I was pleasantly surprised at the results. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but can two million fans really be wrong? If you’re expecting a top 10 list from me, I don’t have one ready so be patient. Topic picture is unrelated but funny.

Sources: Yahoo Japan, Danny Choo

1. sola - Sola’s spot is a huge surprise. I pegged either Lucky Star or Code Geass at the number one position.

2. Lucky Star - Lucky Star is average at best but has a ton of fanboy support. Expected this to be pretty high.

3. Katei Kyoshi Hitman Reborn - Hitman Reborn doesn’t really deserve a place in the top ten. Bad taste… It’s also technically ongoing from late 2006 but whatever.

4. Ookiku Furi Kabutte - No opinion on this. I wouldn’t watch a baseball anime to save my life.

5. Higurashi - I guess this is for Higurashi season 2. I don’t really care too much for the franchise but it deserves its place.

6. Gintama - Another Jump title ongoing from 2006. I don’t think it should count, but tell that to the voters. The Gintama manga is much better than the anime which I found to be a boring at times.

7. Nanoha StrikerS - StrikerS had to be one of the biggest disappointments of 2007. If StrikerS wasn’t related to the Nanoha series, it wouldn’t even be in the top 50.

8. Nanatsuiro Drops - It’s got some cute designs, but I don’t think it should be this high just because of Noizi Itoh’s moe characters. Oh wait, that’s why Shana is so popular.

9. Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei - Good choice here. This top 10 list left me in despair, but SZS’s placement brought my spirits up a bit.

10. Hidamari Sketch - No opinion. Truthfully it didn’t look that interesting.

dragonaut12-1

Dragonaut slowly reveals more of the backstory with another flashback. This time we see Mr. Kiril holding a funeral service for the victims of the shuttle crash. All the while, Nozaki watches Kitajima and seems very confused after taking his human form for the first time.

Back to the action at hand, Liner and Sieglinde move in to intercept the raging dragon, but it disappears in a flash of light before they can attack. It moves a distance away and unwillingly assumes a Communicator form. Nozaki orders Kitajima to stay on Tartarus to observe Gio and Widow under the pretense that either one could go berserk. Kitajima locks the two in a special room filled with CSS to prevent them from using their powers and Actualizing. Regardless, Kitajima second guesses Nozaki’s order and leaves the island to return to base.

Super Mario Galaxy and Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations have been sapping my free time lately. Galaxy is a vast improvement over the Gamecube’s Sunshine and may even give Super Mario 64 a good run for its money. This game is polished and very fun. The classic Mario remixes from his older adventures brought a big smile to my face. I’ve gotten past the first cluster of galaxies which were all genuinely fun to play. Bee Mario > You.

Phoenix Wright: T&T is really more of the same gameplay from the previous two outings. As far as Capcom is concerned, if it isn’t broken then don’t fix it. Cough… Street Fighter… Dan said that the first case is kind of long to which I agree. The first case has usually never had more than one chapter. It’s also a bit odd to have an incompetent Mia at the reins, but it’s all for the sake of backstory.

Jam Project’s “Motteke Sailor Fuku” remix is… Interesting. It’s actually kind of hot-blooded now just because it’s Jam Project. The other mixes are also a nice listen. I may just review this quirky album for the heck of it.

Now that whatever winter solstice-related holiday you celebrate has come and gone, you probably have some spending money, some free time, or a bit of both. But what to spend it on? Certainly, you could pass endless hours seeking out only the choicest torrents or perhaps indulging in the finest sporting activities television has to offer (new American Gladiators broadcasts January 6!), but there’s bound to be something else to eat up your time.

And, in this case, your brains. The perfect thing to liven up your holiday season is some zombie-related merchandise! Everyone knows about the Resident Evil series and the recent million-seller Dead Rising, and what zombie aficionado, even a casual one, is unfamiliar with George Romero’s formidable body of work or the recent British zombie(-esque) films 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later? But if you’re looking for brain-munching entertainment that isn’t a Hollywood blockbuster or another Capcom title, we’ve got some suggestions for you to drop some holiday dough on.

You’ve probably tired of hearing “Merry Christmas” by now. One more time shouldn’t hurt unless you’re allergic to that phrase. Hope everyone has a good one. Normal posts will resume tomorrow.

Sorry to disappoint you, but there’s no poem. I just needed a catchy headliner for this semi-filler post. The amount of filler on this blog will soon give Naruto and Bleach a run for their money.

*Cue rimshot*

Hope everyone takes it easy today and tomorrow. The commercialism of the holiday season has left me in despair, so I’ll just be at home watching anime and playing games. Now isn’t that how every Christmas should be? Dragonaut 12 and Bamboo Blade 11 are on the queue until the holiday is over. William Shatner is also a terrible actor but that’s another story for another day.
