February 1st marks the birthday of Shiori from Kanon. Why mention Shiori and not the other Kanon girls that had January birthdays? I forgot. The only thing that reminded me was watching the Kanon DVD earlier today. Now Max Factory, where’s that Shiori figure already?

Ugh. Textbooks. Boring. I have just been pwned by studying. The textbook is Kenshiro and I am cannon fodder trying to fight back. Not much time for anything else besides studying until the torrent of tests calms down.

In other news, the recent Brawl news has been surprisingly good. No More Heroes also looks like a fun game, but the $50 price tag deters me. The premise of an otaku assassin is very fresh though.

I always thought Lego has been around longer than that. Lego doesn’t really have much to do with anything remotely otaku, but I thought it was worth mentioning. I do think that official Lego Gundam kits could be pretty cool. Now there’s an idea. After all, Mega Bloks had some success with their mediocre Gundam RX-78-2 and Zaku back in 2006. Picture from an unknown source.

The details of my death have been greatly exaggerated. I have brought back Ryoko and cake in my absence though. I’m still busy with the real life stuff, so there will be delays from me in pretty much every area. It’s hard to believe that January is almost over.

Stress and fatigue have officially kicked in now. Let’s see what’s on my personal agenda. Studying for tests is super fun. I’m lovin’ it. There’s also a bundle of essays to do in the meantime. Those aren’t too bad. As a result of all this assigned schoolwork, I haven’t been keeping up with too many anime. Studies do take priority after all. I’m in despair from all this schoolwork. Here’s a nice Kotomi picture to distract you while I make my get away.

I really don’t know too much about this character since this was an impulse buy the other day, but I thought this one looked nice ever since seeing the prototype at Wonder Fest Winter 07. Too bad Kotobukiya’s mass productions usually take varying dips in quality.

It was twelve years ago that the Gillard New Emirates entered into a military alliance with the ISDA. Prince Rajna, the elder son of the king, was the one originally intended to act as the administrator of the alliance, but his untimely secret assassination at the hands of Asim and Garnet changed history.

Meu does origami and stuff.

Yes, the colour and stuff IS indeed for because of the Chinese New Years. How perceptive of you!

It’s some sort of cube-ball thing. Kinda cool. The finished product looks more like a cube, then you unfurl some of the trappings and voila - It becomes this.

Yay for random updates!

P.S. - This is the only set of pictures of my desktop taken so far. Yes, that is a Dell and an Orange Box mousepad which I got for free with the, well, the Orange Box.

As a reviewer, I am torn. Do I describe Cloverfield as this year’s Snakes on a Plane, or do I announce it as the Blair Witch Godzilla as it storms to number one on its opening weekend? Certainly, it has elements of both–low viewer expectations as to quality and a huge internet hype just like Snakes, but the monster-movie and first-person documentary qualities of those other two films. Fortunately, the only thing I have to decide is whether or not to tell you to see Cloverfield, and I’m more than capable of doing that. It’s a film that definitely makes an impression, and it isn’t for everyone–to find out if it’s for you and your hard-earned money, keep reading below, spoiler-free!

Monday Outlook

What’s in store for this week? There’s the usual anime summaries and a figure photo shoot. Huzzah! If you want to find out what figure it is, you’ll have to stay tuned or stalk me… On second thought, just stay tuned to the blog. I wouldn’t want to have to place a restraining order on anyone.

My Shuraki Char Rhousemann box also shipped out today, so that’ll get here in a prompt two weeks. You’ve got to love good old snail mail. Here’s the obligatory “Urusai urusai urusai!” since I featured a Shana picture in this post.
