Completely, hopelessly, utterly addicted. Visual novels just have this way of drawing you in with immersive stories. Even “bad” visual novels usually still have decent stories. It’s funny how eroge barely qualify as games yet remain so engrossing. I’m going to get flack for saying this, but a lot of these games would actually be better without the hentai. Of course sales figures say otherwise when all-age versions sell less than the standard editions.
Oh yeah. I noticed that the blog’s load times have been a bit slow lately. Hopefully that will pass over soon.

Watch your family.
Time for last week’s overview. As per the usual we’ll start with animu and move on to games.
Clannad episode 22: Well Clannad is tentatively over for now and what an ending it was. Hot blooded Akio had some of the best speeches in the show. Clannad was good but didn’t fully live up to the hype from Kanon’s prior success. Don’t get me wrong because I fully enjoyed the whole experience. Now that the show is “over”, I’ll have to find something else to talk about.
Well that about does it for this week’s anime. Just Clannad. At least I have some game stuff to cover.
One ~ To the Radiant Season: Finally got back to playing this and have been staying up too late in the process. I don’t even know what path I’m on right now. So far it looks like Misaki and Akane are the front runners.
SSBB: Some of these challenges are completely and utterly unforgiving. Boss Battle mode on anything past Hard is just killing me. There is also no way to bypass these challenges with a gold hammer to get the reward. Those sadistic programmers really suckerpunched us.
Trace Memory: Brawl encouraged me to pick up this game again for a second try. Further opinions to be posted as I delve deeper into this game.
Temporarily anyway. A bit of thorough googling found a solution - Namely, we axed one of the widgets. Or two.
So post and let’s be friends! =D

I’ve missed quite a few of these due to time constraints and other distractions that will just be conveniently swept under the carpet. We’ll kick things off with anime opinions and move on to other stuff.
Clannad episode 21: Nagisa is love. Nagisa in a Kanon uniform is even better. I don’t see how Nagisa gets so much flack when she is clearly the best girl of the bunch. It’s also official that the show’s run will end at 22 episodes to probably save enough content for a second season or some OVAs. KyoAni could have just went with the standard 24 episodes to extend the Kyou arc, since the TV-only viewers are still left clueless as to the specifics of Kyou’s and Ryou’s past.
Hayate no Gotoku episodes 41-42: The plot is really going nowhere in a hurry. It’s still good for mind-on-autopilot type watching. I really can’t recall what happened in these eps without going back for another watch. Like a crazy party with lots of alcohol, it’s all just a blur.
Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei episode 4: The second season is simply brilliant. I dare to say that up to episode 4 it’s better than the first season, which was no slouch either. However the lack of new fansubs has left me in despair! AFK has left me in despair! Thanks a bunch.
Now onto the gaming side of things…
Hotel Dusk: This was an absolutely mesmerizing game. It’s a solid film noir mystery novel with lots of twists and turns. The story will keep you guessing until the climax at the end. The main character, Kyle Hyde, is a breath of fresh air in a world of pansy, bishounen protagonists. If you’re in the mood for a game that blends film noir styling with a complex story, look no further than Hotel Dusk. This gets a recommendation.
Phoenix Wright 3: Boring case 4 is boring. I may look at an FAQ to get through this borefest of a case just to proceed with the rest of the game.
SSBB: Yeah yeah. Everyone is talking about Brawl. Blah blah blah. Just trying to learn new characters to mix things up on wifi, all the while continuing to unlock the massive amount of hidden content.
Be sure to tread carefully this March 15th, because it’s historically been a bad day. I’ll spare you the history lesson this time due to the fact I don’t get paid to teach. Spring break sure flew by quickly and now it’s time to go back to the normal schedule, whatever that was. I guess we could look at what’s on my chopping block.
Catching up on anime via short marathons. I’m slowly getting back up to speed on Hayate and Shana while keeping up with the latest of my regular shows, some of which still need to get blogged. Yes yes. I procrastinate too much. It will get done… Eventually.
I’m getting tired of Brawl. Yeah, I said it. So I’ve gone back to the trusty old DS and fired up Hotel Dusk and Phoenix Wright 3. Brawl will still get sporadic playtime just to unlock all the secrets and accept matches. Speaking of which, here’s my Brawl FC for any challengers out there. Octomania has been pushed back to the 25th, not like there’s going to be a huge rush to get it. Arcana Heart is also looking better and better too. It’s a pity Arcana won’t have any online play.
Super Smash Bros Brawl: 4382-1635-4168
Hot on the heels of KyoAni’s Clannad TV adaptation, Toei brings us their version of the Clannad story. Toei’s adaptation of Clannad is an abridged Nagisa arc with all the needless filler secondary girls’ arcs removed. Liberties are taken here and there with the story, but unlike the Air movie, the Clannad movie remains much more faithful to the original story. Toei and KyoAni can’t seem to agree on who should voice Key male leads, because the movie has a different seiyuu voicing Okazaki while everyone else retains their original voice. Obvious spoilers and lots of pictures after the jump.
