To say that there are a lot of shows this season would be a huge understatement. After the obligatory skim through Moetron’s Fall 2008 Chart (pictured below), it looks like there’ll be 48 shows minus the kid’s shows that won’t be seriously followed and excluding OVAs. It’s still a hell of a lot of new stuff to watch though. This is going to be a busy fall for anime fans and bloggers. For me to say that I’ll do impressions of all the new shows is tantamount to blogger suicide. As such I’ve painstakingly selected* which shows to do impressions for based on what interested me the most.

Akane Iro ni Somaru Saka
Casshern Sins
Chaos Head
Hyakko
Kemeko Deluxe
Kurozuka
Shikabane Hime Aka
Toradora!
Tytania
Yozakura Quartet

Whew. Ten shows should be enough. I thought this was a good mix of anticipated shows along with some that will probably slip under the radar with big names like Clannad, ef and Gundam 00 around this season. So expect it soon. I’m sure some of the better blogs out there will cover the rest.

*I actually just assigned shows to numbers and drew them from a hat.

5 shows I am catching in there, must be luck. Hyakko, Shikabane Hime Aka, Y-Quartet, Chaos;Head and Casshern. Woot.

  2. @Panther: Fufufu. The five we share are probably the best of what I chose to cover, but I had to toss in some others for variety. In particular, I don’t expect great things from Kemeko and Akane Iro but will be pleasantly surprised if they’re decent.

  3. All pretty good choices, random or not. Rather iffy on Tytania though.

  4. At the moment I’m really just downloading Tales of the Abyss for the lulz. That, and I didn’t play the game. (Though I did get spoiled to high heavens just wandering the boards)

You guys already know I’m watching Xam’d methodically, so yeah.

  5. Hmm…Akane looks like it could have Ranma 1/2 potential. Maybe I can start watching it after Christmas but at this point, I really don’t have time for a lot.
