I’ve just realized that I’ve been watching quite a large number of shows recently. Since there’s not a lot of space to review each one before looking like a massive wall of text, I’ll just summarize my thoughts.

Briefly.
Pics and stuff ahoy.
A Certain Magical Index (To Aru Majutsu no Index)

Warning: This character may look more ominous than actually is.
Talk about a solid first episode and colour me impressed, but I believe this show has some very strong potential. Coming from JC Staff, the Shana comparison is inevitable (Though I’ve watched little of the latter), but there’s a lot going for this one. Some wierd satirical humor, the cynical hero and heroine, and the sparky psycho who’s out for our protagonist’s blood… Or not. Regardless, the cast is quite an intriguing bunch. The production quality is also top-notch, with the details going into the backgrounds being some of the more intricate I’ve seen.
First episode aired last week. A solid pilot makes this a highly-recommended watch.
Soul Eater

Surprisingly fresh and entertaining for a shonen-based show, Soul Eater has managed to live up to most of the hype. It’s got some of the more excellent animated fights this season, and the kooky humor is also quite up to par. Whether or not it will diverge from the manga remains to be seen, although I wasn’t very fond of the latter, so I guess I’ll only read it when it does happen, seemingly inevitably.
27th episode aired this week. Highly recommended for shonen-junkies who are sick of the usual Big Three junk.
Tales of the Abyss

A hot girl at my side, beautiful flowers everywhere… Did I just die and go to Paradise?
Having not played the game, I’m not really sure what to expect here, but it’s been a somewhat entertaining piece of work so far. The animation and fight scenes boast a certain polished level of quality, and the story seems to have some promise seeing how it appears to be a faithful adaptation so far, or so I’ve heard.
And Tear is kinda hot. That helps too.
Third episode should be out this week. Not the strongest of introductions, but the promise of a faithful RPG adaptation piques my curiosity.
The Time of Eve (Eve no Jikan)

Three’s company, right guys?
To a certain kanzeon who recommended this show: THANK YOU.
Time of Eve is a very poignant tale that has some rather touching and thought-provoking presentation. Despite being 15-ish minutes per episode, the characterization and nuances that it brings about are quite strong and interesting, and the development is excellent.
And Akiko is <3.
Releases are sporadic, but worth the wait. It’s got all the charm of Dennou Coil, the android feel of Ergo Proxy, and, well… It’s just good, mmkay?!
Xam’d: Lost Memory

I said talk to the hand, not bloody SHOOT at it!
Second BONES production on the list? Yus. Xam’d has had a pretty strong showing thus far, and may quite well be on its way to becoming the Eureka Seven of the year. It’s halfway through though, so unless they’re opting for a second season of 26-episodes, it’s probably gonna take a lot of effort to match up.
Episode 13 due this week. Solid contender for top season-long anime this year.
Aaand, that’s all, folks! Tune in next time, same place, same channel, for more Meupdates!

Soul Eater is the new shounen. Count on it. You cannot go wrong with BONES. Anime > manga though, thanks to action and more.

Yeah, BONES is awesome. You ARE watching Xam’d…Right? *Evil look and brandishes scalpel*
Well, I am watching Xam’d at least :p . Just a pity that there’s so few blogging it. And most of them has fallen far behind the schedule as far as blogging it goes there too, nyoro~n!
(but I suppose that the coming of the fall seasons are to blame there -, and since this season has so much watchworthy, I suppose I can understand it… abit <_<) .
I find RandomC and psgels to be rather consistent in their blogging times. The bigger pity is that episode 13 is missing somewhere. =(
