This week we feature Sola’s delightfully creepy nee-san, Aono Morimiya. She was my favorite character in the show, and I just love the overall character design. Those aloof red eyes and that cold, distant gaze… So creepy but oh so dreamy! Her power to manipulate paper (which is totally not taken from Read or Die) also wins a lot of points from me. And what fantastic timing, Aono’s match in SaiMoe is coming up tomorrow. Coincidental or not I thank you for the pimping since this one looks to be the most uphill one of all the third round.
Surprisingly, when I look back I found a lot of the sola characters quite likable, with Matsuri, Koyori, Mana, and of course Aono. Somehow she reminds me of taking a low-level Nagato and crossing that with hax danmaku powers and solid backstory. Very enjoyable to watch and adore.
Well, when she’s not trying to kill things, but then you get to admire her badass side.

Aono’s power is indeed hax to the max. Danmaku paper throwing go! She pulls off the cute and cool combination quite well. Fufufu.
