OH NOES, THERE’S ESTROGEN IN THE BLOG
That would be me, A Day Without Me, a.k.a. the new part-timer here at Wolf Hurricane. I’m a religion and political science student in real life, and the owner/head (only?) of GAR GAR Stegosaurus, hence the fact that I will be writing here on a part-time basis. Basically, Yamcha asked me if I’d be interested in joining the team, and I thought I’d hop aboard =D
Other than anime and manga, my hobbies include reading, swimming, politics, photography, and, uh, shooting things. I have been watching anime for about ten or eleven years now, and reading manga for around nine or ten of those years. My affection for anime has led me to study Japanese, although I must, sadly, report that I am one of the delinquents in my class.
I’m looking at doing editorial posts here at Wolf Hurricane, such as series reviews or just analyses of themes or something of that sort in different anime/manga. You can expect to hear from me once a week or so.
I suppose I would have to say that my favorite genre of anime is horror, although I don’t think I actually dislike any particular genre. I’m also a big BL fan (yep, I’m one of those), although I prefer to read BL manga, since I think only the worst BL manga ever end up getting anime adaptations. My favorite shows include Outlaw Star (really!), Revolutionary Girl Utena, Jigoku Shoujo, Princess Tutu, and Fullmetal Alchemist. My favorite shows for this season are Mouryou no Hako, Jigoku Shoujo Mitsuganae, and Shikabane Hime.
I feel as though that pretty much covers it, other than random assorted facts such as:
- I love R.E.M.
- I’m secretly a flaming socialist from hell
- I watched Strawberry Panic… and enjoyed it (because it was such utter crack)
- analyzing religious elements in anime is something I do for fun
- I can pass as a fifteen year old
- my favorite meal is New England clam chowder with a glass of cranberry juice
- I collect rubber duckies
And there you have it: A Day Without Me, in a nutshell-ish.
