Yes this is late, but here are some resolutions for the new year
Posted by: Noirsword in Personal
Tardy blogging has been plaguing me the past month and a half, and this late post is another microcosm of that trend. Part of it has to do with my intrinsic laziness, and the other part usually consists of me getting distracted by a video game of some sort. When I get absorbed by a good game, blogging takes an indefinite back seat, as it has with this post which is a good nine days late. Anyway, there be resolutions after the jump.
1. Be a more prompt and active blogger
I do love blogging but laziniess always gets the better of me. Sometimes I put off watching new episodes anywhere from days to weeks, which subsequently throws a giant slowpoke.jpg at the blogging schedule. I’ll also try to be more active in the blogosphere again and comment more, which I actually consider more difficult than keeping to a schedule since I suck at socializing. I’ll try though.
2. Continue to open up my anime horizons
I try to keep my mind open going into each new season by trying shows in genres I usually don’t watch. I still overwhelmingly prefer comedy, comedy/romance, harem, action and psychological anime, but I’ll pick a few shows I usually wouldn’t for a three-four episode trial in the meager winter season. Most of the time I end up dropping the shows I go out on a branch for because they didn’t initially interest me, but at least I’ll experience something new. You may find something you like by branching out. I was pleasantly surprised by last fall’s Tytania and all its space opera goodness.
3. Read more
It’s unusual for a blogger to say this but… I hate reading. It’s never been fun for me because it’s always been forced upon me by school since I was young, and that association has never gone away. I actively read back in middle school when I got into Star Wars novels, but my reading has been sparse since then. I’ve always loved science fiction and fantasy, so I suppose I’ll try to get back into those when I can find some time to spare.
4. Be nicer to Meu
Ha. I’ll try… But I prefer to lovingly make fun of my underpaid, overworked lackey. No soup for you. All your Aegis fanart are belong to me.

Kairu Ishimarus last blog post…Im Starting To Forget ‘Anime’
I used to read Star Wars books back in middle school! Have you tried Terry Pratchett? He’s comedic fantasy.
@Kairu: *Insert slowpoke.jpg here*
@Caitlin: I avidly read Stackpole’s X-Wing series and a lot of various Expanded Universe stuff, but Star Wars novels don’t have the same charm for me anymore. Any particular Pratchett novels you’d recommend? I never know good starting points for authors that are new to me.
I’ve always found commenting and keeping up with the sphere to be harder than writing posts, but it’s a good way to get commenters and it’s also a good way to learn. It’s much easier to form an opinion on something when you have a variety of other opinions to take into consideration.
ETERNALs last blog post…Clannad – Why I Love It, and why it’s probably more than you think
I really liked “Guards! Guards!”, which follows his police unit, but I’ve been a long-time mystery reader. Actually, I’ve liked all the City Watch books.
For parody of higher education, possibly “The Last Continent”. He hasn’t written about the wizards in a while but that was the last one I enjoyed.
The problem with finding a good starting point is that he’s created a universe but has several different groups that he writes about in it. They all have their own timeline that is in sync with every elses. It sounds confusing but it’s really not. You could pick up most Pratchett books, read them, and understand most of it without having to read the previous ones.
I love reading… but I guess that doesn’t give me the excuse to not have any resolutions. Though it’s more on the fact that I lack the willpower to keep resolution I made.
Lehqs last blog post…[ToraDora! Ep14] Minorin’s Duel of Fate
@ETERNAL: Regularly reading and commenting on other blogs takes a degree of diligence… That I don’t have. =P
@Caitlin: Duly noted and thanks for the tips.
@Lehq: You need RESOLVE… Like Ichigo. Bankai m i rite guyz?
Sounds a bit like my own resolutions. Only thing is I don’t keep to them.
@Shin: I know for sure I’ll eventually drop the socializing resolution because my RESOLVE is weak and I are teh suk at socializing.
