This is my desktop. Point and laugh.

I’m horribly out of the loop when it comes to VN news, but I just found out about the Kanon English patch yesterday. Say what you will about my slowpokeness. It’s okay. So after squealing like a little girl at a Jonas Brothers concert for five minutes, I finally got around to installing a… dubious copy of Kanon that’s been sitting on my HD for ages, along with the requisite voice and English patches.

Upon finally playing the game I was utterly mesmerized and blew a good three hours in the first sitting without realizing it… And this is why I don’t play VNs despite loving them so much — They’re too damn addicting. Yes, they’re even more addicting than jelly beans. I swore off VNs for the better part of two years, but maybe it’s something I can’t escape from. A great VN draws you in and doesn’t let go for a second. It makes you laugh, cry, and most importantly identify with its characters on a more intimate level since VNs are an interactive experience as opposed to passively watching an anime. Perhaps non-VN players will get the wrong impression when I say “intimate”, but there isn’t a better way to describe the feeling. Dictating the story and choosing your path (and girl) makes the experience much more personal compared to an anime.

Anyway that’s enough ranting. If it seems like I’m around even less than usual, you can chalk that up to alternatively crying and fapping to this spectacular VN. I already decided I’m going down the Nayuki path, hence the Nayuki screenshot. Screw the Taiyaki Thief, Meat Bun Fanatic, Demon Hunter and Dying Girl. I’ve got Cousin Lovin’ Strawberry Jam!

Go bother Emmy Award winning co-author Meultima in the meantime. I heard he’s currently playing a VN of his own, some nonsense about Umineko Wafers and Doki Doki Strike Witches or something. I’m not privy to all the details, but that’s what I surmised from spying on him from the bushes outside. By the way, I love what you’ve done with the place dude.

PS: I do plan to buy a legit copy of Kanon. The epic (and discontinued) Key Memorial Box would be awesome, but settling for a standalone copy isn’t so bad.

Well, that was rather nice. The last episode of Time of Eve was a good long 27:45 in length, and it marked off the end to the tentative first ’season’ rather nicely. The main focus of the episode this time was, surprisingly, Masaki, and it ended up with him reconciling with an old bond that was thought lost. And we also have our look at the series’s real antagonist so far: Masaki’s own father, who happens to be part of the Anti-Android coincil. That, however, doesn’t play as huge a role in this episode as one might expect, but his influence can still be felt during this episode.

I’m a bit sad that this little gem has ended for now, but there has been rumours of a season 2 from words on the official website, so who knows what else this company might have in store? Either way, it’s been quite an interesting ride. See you later, Time of Eve, may we meet again!

Edit: I made a silly error from writing at 3 in the morning. :<

Sillyface Ararararagi is here to add flavor to this award ceremony.

The summer season is all but over, and a slew of summer shows (along with some spring holdovers) draw to an end to make way for the much anticipated fall lineup — And what a lineup it is because it has me jizzing in my pants with excitement!

…Er, scratch that last thought. Before fall gets here, we have to say farewell and salute the summer lineup. What does that mean exactly? It could only mean it’s time to hand out inconsequential awards to the best shows of summer. It’s like the Oscars, except the results actually matter.

Drawing inspiration from some show about Umineko Wafers, co-author Meu suddenly turned violent, murdering me in bizarre fashion nearly two weeks ago, all the while mumbling something about a woman named “BEYATORICHE” over and over again. I was left in this unfortunate state until a kind White Mage recently happened upon my candy stuffed corpse and resurrected me with a Life 2 spell. The unfortunate side effect of being dead for so long is I’m more zombie than I used to be, but at least I’ve returned to the land of the living, even if I do have an insatiable hunger for the flesh of the living now. On the plus side I have candy stuffed inside me, so I’m like a frickin’ zombie pinata or something. Viva zombie pinata bitches!

You don’t believe my story? Fine. Let’s just say I was sick and have only recently started to feel better. It’s not as interesting, but I guess it’s more believable than dying and coming back as an anime blogger turned zombie pinata. So here I am, back again and very much out of the loop in regards to all things, because I haven’t been on the internet much if at all during that timespan. The state of affairs goes as such:

Anime Backlog – Fallen behind much more so than usual, so it’s time to binge again and slog through the shows recommended to me (currently Moyashimon with Baccano! next) in addition to what’s currently airing.

Twitter – Mostly dead. Good riddance too. Twitter is stupid so that’s one less thing to worry about.

Socializing – …Never did this to begin with. lolol.

Blogging – Wut? Oh right. “Blogging”. Got a couple posts that are waiting to be posted and stuff.

Killing Meu and Stuffing His Corpse with Taiyaki – Already done with extra Uuuuuuu~ for emphasis. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA.

…It was worth it.

That being said, it’s funny that Kanbaru does a very good job of filling up Senjougahara’s absence. I’d never expected it, but hey, it works. Actually, you could kick out that overrated yandere and it’d make the show 1000x better. As for the episode itself, it was alright, but as the title says, the presentation left a lot to be desired, as it ended up being a lot of still shots and frames for a large portion of the episode.

Well, the last arc looks to be Tsubasa Cat, which is 2 episodes aired on TV and 3 episodes off the website. ’tis a pity, I was waiting for the Koyomi Vampire arc. Oh well, I guess I can’t complain since the show is popular enough to warrant a second season.

Wow, two posts in a row from yours truly. I am on a ROLL, baby.

And no, I don’t mean the Golden Witch.

Your puny missiles are no match for Cyborg Lolis.

Hopefully, I’m not the only one still keeping up to date with the (admittedly haphazard) Gunslinger Girl scanlation release schedule. It’s certainly a very undermentioned series despite being one of the most poignant series I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading. Sure, the target demographic may be creepy perverts lolicons, but one can’t deny that the kind of writing that goes into these chapters are certainly no cheap parlour tack-ons. Though, I will have to admit that the shoddy workmanship of Il Treatrino did put me off from actually watching the second season. Not that I missed a whole lot, of course… I don’t think so, anyway.

That being said, the current scanlations are, I believe, just four or so chapters behind the latest releases. The last chapter I read on Mangafox some scanlations website was chapter 63, I believe. It ended on a cliffhanger as the Fratelli by the name of Beatrice takes to the frontstage but for a fleeting moment.

Yet, what a moment it was.

I heard you guys like loli nuns with entire libraries of forbidden magical texts stuffed into their heads. I’m personally more of a Biribiri, Kaori and KoMOE kinda guy, but as per commenter request, Index is the Girl of the Month for September. Screw the request though because I was going to pick Index anyway as part of my master plan to take over the world by turning everyone into a lolicon.

Moving on, Toaru Majutsu no Index’s magical moe library does have a certain charm to her, such as… Ummm… Begging for food and leaving her signature bite marks all over Touma on a regular basis as a sign of affection…? Wait. Those aren’t charming features. So why do we like Index anyway? As I ponder this question, I’ll leave you with this month’s gallery of everyone’s favorite Magical Index. Happing fapping Hope you like it.
