About Wolf Hurricane: Another anime blog on the interweb. The blog’s name comes from Yamcha’s trademark move in Dragon Ball, the Rogafufuken/Wolf Hurricane Fist. I started this thing in April 2007 over at Blogspot, moved to Wordpress, and then finally moved to the domain you see here. As time goes on I hope this blog will flourish and become popular.

About Yamcha:
I’m the guy that runs the blog and takes care of all the admin stuff. I’m a Psychology student that likes to blog about anime, manga, games, and general otaku culture. As for why I call myself Yamcha, it originally began as a joke account on a gaming message board, and the name stuck with me ever since.

I suppose I was initially bitten by the anime bug sometime in 1999 when a friend introduced me to Ranma 1/2 and Neon Genesis Evangelion. I found them interesting at the time but they didn’t reel me in. Then in 2000 I decided to watch Toonami’s programming block and got hooked on anime such as Gundam Wing, Tenchi Muyo, Outlaw Star, and The Big O. Everything went downhill (or uphill depending on how you look at it) from there. Yamcha became even more addicted when he started watching fansubs shortly thereafter. He still hasn’t kicked this bad habit, but the addiction has subsided into a more manageable form now.

In addition to loving all things otaku, I am also an avid gamer. I’ve been playing all sorts of video games since the late 1980’s and it’s always been one of my favorite pastimes. All genres are fair game except for FPS and RTS. Never got into those particular types of games. I’ve also taken a particular liking to eroge… Which I only play for the story.

Favorite anime: Noir, Air TV, Kanon, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Rurouni Kenshin, Welcome to the NHK, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Sola, The Twelve Kingdoms, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo.

Favorite manga: Lunar Legend Tsukihime, Gintama, Gundam: Ecole du Ciel, Gunslinger Girl.

Favorite games: Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy VI, Katamari Damacy, Gitaroo Man, Super Mario Bros series, Phoenix Wright, The Legend of Zelda series, Shenmue 1/2, No More Heroes.

Meet the Staff

Meultima:
A multimedia college student with illusions of grandeur. Drinks milk, brushes his teeth, looks both ways when crossing the street like every good little tyke, and is a social outcast bordering on hikkikomorism due to the nuances of animation and other time-consuming computer design activities. Despite my rigorous schedule, I somehow find the time to squeeze in games and anime and stuff.

My name is actually several different amalgams at once. The most obvious word would be ‘ultima’ but the ‘me’ at the front is either that (me) or mew, depending how you want to look at it. A pun referring to ‘mewtwo’ if you will. He has a considerable interest in animangame and the like, but the sight of cosplayers in the open sends him running.

Favourite series: Code Geass, Eureka Seven, Ergo Proxy, Noein, and countless others.

Favourite games: Deus Ex, Xenogears, Bioshock, F.E.A.R., Half-Life 2 onwards, Portal, Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, lots more things, really.

Mr Bound:
Born and raised in Anytown, USA, Bound takes his name from his favorite game, the SNES cult RPG EarthBound. Despite a continuing interest in Japanese culture, Bound prefers comics to manga, American animation to anime, and Oreos to Pocky. Bound nurses ongoing interests in pen-and-paper gaming and Magic: the Gathering.

Favorite TV and films: The Venture Bros., Avatar: the Last Airbender, Battlebots, Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, Samurai Champloo, pretty much anything by Studio Ghibli, Sin City, The Incredibles.

Favorite games: Nethack, EarthBound, Super Metroid, Final Fantasy VI, Fire Emblem IV, Shadow of the Colossus, the Katamaris, Guilty Gear XX, Bioshock, Freespace 2, the Command and Conquer series, Kingdom of Loathing.
