Sorry if the previous post offended anyone, which I’ve already taken down because of some complaints. It was meant in jest, but I guess not everyone saw it that way. My apologies to anyone that found the piece to be in poor taste. Talk about a plan that totally backfired…

I hope that everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July. We’ll resume normal posting after the extended holiday.

Taken from today’s announcement over at ANN, Funimation picked up title and distribution rights for several shows from Geneon’s now defunct US branch. Noteable series include Ergo Proxy, Black Lagoon, Higurashi, Rozen Maiden, Shana, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, The Story of Saiunkoku, and The Familiar of Zero.

Sidenote: Yay Nanoha DVDs. The White Devil is finally coming to the states.

The girl of the week is the moetastic Tamaki Kawazoe from Bamboo Blade. Nigh invincible in kendo and also an otaku fangirl to boot, Tama is indeed an odd girl. Watch out though because she can quite literally kick your butt in the blink of an eye. Hope you enjoy this week’s picture gallery.

I’ve been in a huge writing funk lately, so here’s some filler to let the readers get to know me better through my musical taste. I’ll only include the most played vocal tracks on this list, since I don’t expect anyone to care about OST and instrumental music. So do any of your favorite anime songs show up here? No? Well go complain somewhere else.

Shiki Ryogi returns to kick more ass in Kara no Kyoukai: Satsujin Kosatsu (Murder Speculation), Part 1. The story goes back in time to explore the origin of the strange relationship between Shiki and Mikiya. This movie is basically all exposition with tons of back story crammed into it.

We proudly kick off our weekly spotlight on random girls from anime and manga with Galaxy Angel’s super cute Milfeulle Sakuraba. Even though this week is a moe girl, moe is not the focus of this feature. Regardless of that statement, it’s inevitable that many moe girls will show up here. So without further ado, more pictures after the jump.

Here’s my short list of manga that I’d like to see get anime adaptations. I don’t feel like writing an exposition for this article, so just click the jump to see my picks.

It was brought to my attention that the quiz show Jeopardy featured an anime column this past Wednesday, June 18th. It’s in the Double Jeopardy round, fifth column over. It figures that the one day I don’t watch the show, something like this happens.

I’m sure the otakusphere would have swept this easy category in epic fashion, only to be utterly owned in everything else. If you’re too lazy to click the link, I’ll copypasta the questions after the jump.

Cast off figures seem to be all the rage these days. Otaku just love being able to strip their favorite girls down to their skivvies… or less. Sure it sounds nice on paper, but casting off isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. For all purpose and intent, this short article will cover true cast off where the clothes actually have to be taken off the figure mold.

Writer’s block has struck, so I’ll write a short article about the popular Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series. Created and almost entirely voiced by Little Kuriboh, this spoof is a sharp and clever jab at both its premise and 4Kids’ horrendous butchering of the show, but everything else in popular culture is fair game too. As the title says, each episode is abridged from the original 24 minutes to anywhere from 5 to 9 minutes in comical fashion.

YGO: TAS is probably best appreciated by those familiar with the 4Kids dub, but I think everyone should be able to enjoy it. There have been several copycat knock-offs (Naruto: TAS, Berserk: TAS) but accept no substitutes, because this is still the best. Go check it out for the lulz. A real post will be up soon.

PS: I happen to think Yu-Gi-Oh is a badass show. Here’s one reason why.

PPS: Yeah, I know I appeased the female readers for once with this picture. Madness!
