Details at Moetron here, along with the OP itself.

The song is not bad, though only the full version will tell if it’s anything special. Still, some inconsistencies with the boomerang size worry me. Anywhoo, that’s the first leaked spring OP, though it airs in like three days anyways so it’s a moot point.

So what we can learn from the OP:

1: Lolis run the show. Seriously, there’s a girl with a boomerang, what appears to be a Tian Zi clone, and some chick with a teddy bear who seems to be in charge of some giant mainframe thing. I ‘unno.

2: In the future, we will have lots of mime-tranvestites. Or at least, poorly attempted ones.

3: Tanks blow up when they get their cannons sliced by a boomerang.

Yamcha: I know it’s tempting to add to the backlog for the Index episodes but
Me: Actually, I’m going off tomorrow again.
Me: To Singapore.
Yamcha: You should meet up with those weird guys from Team Blue.
Me: Aww heww naww.

——————

Or something to that effect.

Four days later, and I’m back again. Whew.

Yes, I went to Orchard Road, you nuts. It has convinced me that Singaporeans are fruitier in the head than a fruitcake on Christmas Eve.

P.S. I stayed at Woodlands with some relatives.

P.S.2. Pedestrians having right-of-way is empowering.

P.S.3. Your games and books here are bloody cheap. I hate you guys. On another note, what is WRONG with you people and your food prices?!

P.S.4. The Kinokuniya in TSC is the most amazing thing ever.

With that, Meu out.

The nickname was Yamcha's idea. Honest.

House of KoMOE with KoMOE leaving the house.

In Episode Five of the Index anime, our overly hotheaded hero has to cool his head a bit to figure out a way to save his newfound friend from certain… Memory Wipe. He has until a little after midnight to complete this Mission Impossible. Will he succeed or fail? (Oh, who am I kidding.) Will Index ever wear that pink bunny suit again? Will Kaori finally overcome her plushie addiction? Okay, so not all of these are even true statements in the first place, and we ain’t got all the answers, but… Ooh, shiny! *Distracted*

I'll just Railgun your arse for that infraction.
Don’t you wish all railguns looked like her?

Ah yes. To Aru Majutsu no Index. For some inexplicable reason I liked this series from the offset. It’s been a little up and down so far, but regardless, it’s some pretty entertaining stuff. Now let’s have a quick look at what we have right now, shall we?

I’ve just realized that I’ve been watching quite a large number of shows recently. Since there’s not a lot of space to review each one before looking like a massive wall of text, I’ll just summarize my thoughts.

Briefly.

Pics and stuff ahoy.

Remember this?

[Since Yamcha has yet to load it to our database, here's a link to the site. It SHOULD work.]

[Edited by Yamcha: Picture uploaded.]

More specifically, the off-screen folks walking in…

Well, that was a lot of fast-pacedness for the last couple of days. I daresay, I rather liked both endings.

MASS SPOILER ALERT AND ALL THAT JAZZ THIS WAY.

So yeah. This was a screenshot I grabbed off GameFAQs which was grabbed off somewhere else. So, from the looks of things, Strike Witches has had the double duty of becoming Gonzo’s number one bestseller AND kicking Gonzo back up in terms of funds.

I… I think I had something more to say but I’m speechless at the moment. I literally can’t think of anything to write about this.

Just… Stare at that image for awhile, and burn it into your eyes.

P.S. If you must know, yes, it’s still up there.

(Yamcha: Lolis is serious business. I suspect the main reason Strike Witches is doing so well is because the DVDs will be unedited and, well, otaku need their loli ecchi fix. I’d like to see the exact sale numbers to see how well Strike Witches is doing. As of this update it looks like the Lucky Star OVA will be this week’s top selling anime DVD. I’m not surprised because it’s Lucky Star.)

I was browsing the fall series when I noticed something.

http://www.linebarrels.jp/machine.html

A new upcoming series by Gonzo. The art on the mech page seems to show cel-references. I almost can’t remember the last time Gonzo ever not did mecha with 3D, but maybe they’ve had enough feedback to make the change back to 2D? Or is this a huge red herring? Who knows? Either way, it seems like Gonzo’s on the verge of going kaput, from what I gather from my lurkerisms, which is a shame since despite their many flaws, they did come up with Last Exile and Gankutsuou, which are both top-grade series. (Though, to be fair, even a lot of the 3D in those were pretty sub-par…) It’s rather ironic how I maintain a clearly love-hate relationship with them, but time to time the waiting does pay off.

At any rate, I just posted this to bring up a point: Would you be sorry to see them go, or will you smirk and send them a “Good riddance!” card?

Addendum: Watched a Linebarrels trailer on Youtube. It seems the fight scenes are still predominantly 3D. Although there seems to be some 2D in it… Hrm. Well, they had the mech designer from Zone of the Enders do the mechs so if they can get some decent-quality ZOE2 3D maybe it won’t be so bad.

Seriously.

Anyway. Studio Ghibli + Eureka Seven = Xam’d: Lost Memories.

A new BONES production. As we all know, those are very very good. And Xam’d is some pretty funky stuff. We’ve got people that can turn into robots or something, we’ve got the damn ship with the dysfunctional bunch on board ala Gekkostate, and there’s this layer of Ghibli mysticism heavily laid out across the land. I can’t decide who’s had a bigger influence on the character design, because the protagonist is definitely BONES, but that red-head looks like she jumped right out of a Miyazaki production.

So hay, I thought I’d download the first ep and take a look.

Damn, but I was hooked. This is the good stuff. Its plot is currently a little haphazard, which was rather similar to how E7 started off, so I’m hoping it gets into the levels of EPIC WIN E7 wraps up with.

But yeah. Watch Xam’d. It’s the best show this season you aren’t watching.
