Protip: if you’re part of a blogging team, try to post an update frequently enough that you don’t have to reset your password and reintroduce yourself every time you decide to get off your butt.

Well, that’s the position I find myself in. I’m Mr Bound, I blog here about every…six months? My own interests skew distinctly American. Sure, my favorite film’s Princess Mononoke, and the Nausicaa manga is among my favorite all-time reads, but in the past I’ve blogged about things like the American animated series Avatar and films like Cloverfield. And now, my plan is to get back on the blogowagon by starting a new feature, entitled You Might Like It. I’ll tackle games, comics, and even the odd TV show that you may have never heard of but might (in my estimation) enjoy.

That’s about it until this Friday, but expect me to encourage submissions from readers of this fine blog for things to review! My interests are broad, so don’t be shy!

I wasn’t originally planning to do a Valentine’s Day post but I figured, “Hey, why not? I could always use an excuse to write a filler post because of my sporadic schedule that doesn’t always allow time to write on the blog”. So here we are, another Valentine’s Day and a post to commemorate it. I also just wanted to post this Taiga picture too. So there’s two excuses for this pointless post. Maybe I’ve been watching too much school romance anime lately, but how nice would it be to get homemade chocolates from a cute (preferably tsundere) girl? Sigh…

Well I finally got some semblance of a free day yesterday, and I’ve been catching up with my anime schedule. My much belated winter impressions should be up soon. Maybe. I’ve also been trying to catch up on Clannad After Story and Toradora after falling behind by 6 episodes for both shows. Perhaps I’ve subconsciously been putting off Clannad After Story because I know it’s going to depress the hell out of me. I was getting teary eyed just from episode 13, and I know it’s going to make me cry a river of manly tears in a couple episodes. Nuuuuuuu! As for falling behind on Toradora, I really don’t know why. I suppose I’ve been losing interest in it ever since the school festival arc.

As tempted as I am to bash Valentine’s Day, I’ll be nice and wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day. In the meantime, I’ll continue to long for some homemade chocolates from a cute (preferably tsundere) girl. Sigh.

As the Year of the Rat draws to a close, we transition into what’s only the best sign in the Chinese zodiac, the Year of the Ox, more specifically the earth element Ox. You know it’s going to be a good year because it’s the Year of the Ox. Hey, I don’t have any zodiac bias. It’s just an irrefutable fact that the Ox is the best. Well anyway, Happy Chinese New Year to everyone out there that celebrates it. And if you don’t, then maybe you should because you will get mad amounts of lucky money, carved starfishes, Reese’s Pieces, cute dancing lolis and cake.

At the strike of midnight it is now January 1, 2009. 2008 has come and gone, and now it’s time to usher in the new year. In retrospect the past year was pretty good with plenty of good shows to watch. Flying pantsu witches, Gayjinchou, trainwreck sequels and an annoying green haired idol are but a few of the things I take away from 2008.

I’ve never really thought of a new year as anything special. In a way I see it as nuisance because I’ll continue to write 2008 for the first month and get frustrated when I have to change the year to 2009. My apathy doesn’t compel me to write more than this. Here’s the obligatory “Happy New Year!”

Hot on the the heels of Panther (not really), I’ve hit the 100k hits milestone. Actually as of this post the stat counter is at about 102,000 hits, so the 100k mark probably came earlier in the week. If I really wanted to get technical, Wolf Hurricane hit the 100k mark months ago with some odd 30k hits from my WordPress hosted blog… But that doesn’t count… Or does it?

This post is somewhat belated because I’ve been lazy lately and neglecting my writing duties. Most of that has to do with the holiday season and oversleeping everyday, which leaves me in no mood to write or even check the blog some days. Pretty bad for a blogger to admit this kind of stuff eh? I’ll prod myself into action soon enough with the upcoming Winter 2009 Anime Impressions and some other animu catch up posts. I’ll be around in some way, shape or form until then.

Anyway, thanks for all the hits everyone! Here’s to another 100k.

Yamcha: I know it’s tempting to add to the backlog for the Index episodes but
Me: Actually, I’m going off tomorrow again.
Me: To Singapore.
Yamcha: You should meet up with those weird guys from Team Blue.
Me: Aww heww naww.

——————

Or something to that effect.

Four days later, and I’m back again. Whew.

Yes, I went to Orchard Road, you nuts. It has convinced me that Singaporeans are fruitier in the head than a fruitcake on Christmas Eve.

P.S. I stayed at Woodlands with some relatives.

P.S.2. Pedestrians having right-of-way is empowering.

P.S.3. Your games and books here are bloody cheap. I hate you guys. On another note, what is WRONG with you people and your food prices?!

P.S.4. The Kinokuniya in TSC is the most amazing thing ever.

With that, Meu out.

A wise man once said, “Screw the yules, I have money!” (Check the Christmas Special), so I shall heartily screw the yules this year. So uh anyway, have a Merry Christmas and all that. I’ll be relaxing with some animu, games and hentai. Hope everyone has a good one and takes it easy! Now for my favorite Christmas song. Enjoy~

Happy Thanksgiving, or as everyone I know likes to call it, Happy Turkey Day. It’s that day where we give thanks for the various things in our life, eat too much turkey, watch a bunch of burly men in tights fight over a pigskin ball on TV and then inevitably fall asleep due to the massive amounts of tryptophan from the turkey. Yay. Always great fun.

Thanksgiving also kicks off the dreaded holiday shopping frenzy with Black Friday tomorrow. Now that I look at it, only 27 days until Christmas? No wai! Well have a safe and happy Thanksgiving. For what it’s worth, updates will continue as normal.

Things I am thankful for:
Pantsu Witches
Blu Ray DVDs
Liptia Tea
Eroge

Happy Halloween! I’m sure most of us are too old to trick or treat, but nevertheless I’ll still acknowledge the holiday and wish everyone a safe and happy Halloween. I’m going to just stay in and play some Touhou or something.
